What is Nutritional Therapy?
The formula for reclaiming health and restoring the body’s natural function with bio-individualized nutrition and lifestyle recommendations.
Foundations of Health
The Foundations of Health are at the root of both health and disease. When these areas of a person’s life are balanced and nourished to function optimally, health flows naturally. When these areas are imbalanced or deficient, the door for disease opens wider. Are you ready to reclaim your health and close the door on preventable illness in your life?
Nutrient-Dense Diet
Whole, thoughtfully prepared, foods are a source of joy and nourish the body with the nutrients it needs to thrive.
Digestion
What we eat has little impact if we can’t digest and absorb the nutrients. Proper digestive function is essential for the health of every cell and system.
Blood Sugar
From energy balance, metabolism, and inflammation to hormone production and mental health, blood sugar regulation is crucial to maintaining wellness.
Sleep
Adequate, quality sleep
is essential for optimal physiological and cognitive function.
Stress
We cannot always control our stressors, but managing our response to stress has profoundly positive physical and mental impacts on health.
Why are Nutritional Therapy Practitioners Needed?
Preventable chronic disease and poor health have become a rising epidemic, leaving many feeling hopeless. Our communities need to know that a diagnosis or symptoms don’t mark the end of the road.
Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (NTPs) transform lives
by addressing the root causes of health challenges with bio-individual protocols, bridging the gap between conventional medicine and preventive care, and empowering individuals to achieve lasting vitality and sustainable wellness.

The NTP Difference
Bio-individual Approach, Clinical Tools, and Instructor-Led Education to Transform Health
Our Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) program is rooted in evidence-based research, blending modern nutritional science with holistic principles. You’ll gain a deep understanding of how the foundations of health (nutrient-dense, digestion, blood sugar regulation, sleep, and stress) impact the body and address the bio-individual needs of your clients.
Learn directly from experienced practitioners in a supportive, interactive learning environment. Our expert instructors provide live feedback, guidance, and mentorship, ensuring you gain the confidence and clinical expertise needed to thrive in your practice.
Knowledge is powerful, but applied knowledge creates lasting change. Our program includes guided training with practice client assessments, developing personalized nutrition protocols, and refining your skills with real-world case studies and directed feedback from experts.
Go beyond textbook learning with foundational training in functional lab analysis. Learn how to analyze key lab markers to uncover hidden imbalances, empowering you to create more effective, personalized nutrition protocols for your clients.
As an NTP student, you’ll gain access to Nutri-Q, our proprietary client management software. This powerful tool includes the Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ) and Symptom Burden Graph, helping you assess client needs, track progress, and provide data-driven recommendations with confidence.
Program Outcomes

FAQs
The Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) Program is recognized by the National Association of Nutritional Professionals (NANP), and graduates can sit for NANP’s National Board Exam.
States vary in their requirements for licensure for those providing nutritional counseling and advice. The majority of states allow NTPs to establish their own practice, but some states require additional licensure or working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. The Department of Health in your state should have complete information on their individual requirements. You can also visit the Council of Holistic Health Educators: https://holisticcouncil.org/ for up-to-date information on the laws and regulations in your state.
Students in the NTP program must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and must be at least 18 years of age. Minors may enquire for an exemption to take the program, but will not receive their certification until they turn 18.
The NTP program offers a holistic, whole food, nutrition-based approach to addressing health problems, and promoting wellness.
We emphasize:
- A food-first approach rooted in the preparation techniques of traditional cultures
- An omnivorous perspective on diet
- The belief that each person is biologically unique
- That the body possesses innate intelligence and defaults to health when given what it needs
Our NTP program provides practitioners with a set of tools to identify their client's nutritional weaknesses. The Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire, combined with Food and Mood journal analysis, lifestyle and environmental assessments, and motivational interviewing techniques all work together to provide a powerful way to assess a client’s biochemical needs and make appropriate, personalized diet and lifestyle recommendations.
The NTP program is approximately twelve months in length and must be completed within the scheduled time. There are approximately three pre-scheduled breaks during the NTP program.
Many of our graduates completed the NTP program while working full-time jobs. However, students should budget at 15-20 hours per week for studying, assignments, and live calls.
