Is attendance mandatory?
Yes. Only three calls may be missed during the duration of your program, and they must made up by watching a recording of the call and completing an assignment.  Please make arrangements in your schedule now to accommodate to attend at least one live class call time each week.

Does the same instructor lead both calls/is the call content identical?

Yes, both weekly calls will be led by the same instructor and the content will be identical.

What are the technology requirements?

A reliable internet connection, access to a computer desktop, laptop or ipad, and a word processing program of your choice are needed.

What are the laws in my state around health coaching?

A PHWC can practice in any state in the United States if staying within our PHWC scope of practice and not engaging in the unlicensed practice of any licensed professions, like medicine, dietetics, and counseling. Health and wellness coaches should be knowledgeable of their state's defined law of what dietetics or nutrition counseling entails and abstain from any unlicensed practice of dietetics or nutrition counseling as defined by the laws of their state. Please refer to this Health Coach Legal Guidelines article and visit Wellness Law for more information.

What are the weekly time requirements for the PHWC Program?

We suggest dedicating 10-15 hours per week for:

- Attending a live weekly class call
- Completing any required reading
- Completing assignments
- Attending Coach Mentor sessions (occurs 5 times throughout the program)

Can I purchase the required reading materials in any format I want?

While learners can use whatever formats they prefer, we strongly recommend purchasing a hard copy format specifically for Coaching Psychology Manual, Motivational Interviewing: Helping People Change, and How to Be a Health Coach: An Integrative Wellness Approach. These books are frequently referenced and it is nice to be able to highlight or take notes in the margins.
